Continuing our annual golf outing tradition, golfers gathered at the Elm Park Golf Club in Donnybrook on Tuesday 2 nd September and had a chance to hone their golfing skills.
A great time was had by all who braved the unpredictable weather conditions of the day!
While the morning was sunny for our lucky first ladies’ team, the afternoon turned out to be a mixture of sun and showers. Those who played in the afternoon, bolstered by the soup and sandwiches provided by the Elm Park Staff successfully negotiated the damp fairways with the final group handing in their scorecard shortly before dinner.
The players and World Mercy Fund supporters enjoyed a fine meal and the hospitality of the Elm Park Golf Club while a wonderful array of golf prizes was presented by John Kavanagh and Father Walter McNamara of World Mercy Fund.
The World Mercy Fund Perpetual Trophy and the 4 replicas kindly donated by John Reilly were brought home by Justin Baily and his team (Horward Bastow Charleton) as well as a voucher for a four ball plus 2 twin rooms for one night in the Fabulous Doonbeg Golf Club.
Through the generosity of the teams, sponsors and on going supporters, World Mercy Fund raised in excess of €20,000 , funds which will be used to enhance the work World Mercy Fund have been focusing on for many years in the developing world.
