Project objective - To supply 3000 community members with clean and safe water.
Father Ricklan Stephen Mallya requested some funds from World Mercy Fund to help in the drilling of a water borehole in Ivumwe Village in Tanzania. His organization aims at empowering the community socially and economically through schools to facilitate education, dispensaries for medical services and health improvement through HIV prevention training programs and now a water related project. The use of unclean water from polluted sources can cause serious health issues and it becomes even more critical in the dry season when the women and children must walk long distances to bring back a small quantity of water which is unsafe.
Father Stephen Mallya applied to World Mercy fund with this project to provide safe and clean water for 3000 community members of the Ivumwe Village. €8,800 was needed to cover the Geophysical and hydrological survey, the equipment and material, the drilling work and the manpower and this was granted by World Mercy Fund this year.
